The Long Way to Lone Rock

Saturday morning was beautiful (if a bit chilly) so we decided to take a ride. Wanting to go someplace we had not been before, we set Mrs. Garmin to point to Richland Center. Her route took us first toward Lone Rock. It was very early in the morning …

Love the thoughtfulness of including an outhouse.

… but the roads were a blast, zigging this way and that with small bluffs on one side and ghost haunted ponds on the other.

Eventually we had to crossed the Lone Rock Bridge …

Taking maybe three times as long as it should, we did eventually pull into Lone Rock. There was no Lone Rock beer or even a decent breakfast place. This left us blue.

From Lone Rock we wandered up to Richland Center. After a less than healthy meal at the local McDonald’s we continued to explore, finding Core Hollow Creek …

Where I found my dream house …

All-in-all it was a fun little trip that we hated to see end
