Another Saturday Image

Today I was working with Match Color and Color Look up in Photoshop. These tools in ‘shop modify the original colors in an image and are cousins to the darkroom technique of cross processing and bleaching and the painter’s trick of using another artist palette or type of paints.

Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass

Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass (Jacques-Louis David) was used as the color basis. The hope was the modified image would have a subtle painterly tone to it without looking like an actual painted composition.
